The identity crisis of Quark Inc., creator of the former leader in layout programs QuarkXPress, seems to go deeper than anticipated. Hit by the success of Adobes InDesign when they thought they were invincible and their own inability to produce something worthy of competition has dropped Quark into agony – and into an ongoing search for a new identity.
Having risen lime green out of the ashes last september, they were quickly criticized for having a logo to similar to many other ones. Now, half a year later, they present yet another one. The lime green stays – and, oh boy, they did not forget to use bevels and drop shadows.
